The Victorian Society for Computers and the Law invites you to a panel discussion on cyber security which will shed light on some of the common pitfalls to avoid in cyber incident management, highlight potential areas for improvement in your organisation's preparedness and provide guidance on the notifiable data breach scheme which will take effect on 22 February 2018.

The panel features Phillip Magness who has 17 years’ experience with the Australian Federal Police, 10 of these on the front line of digital forensic investigations. His expertise has led to numerous prosecutions, including members of the Anonymous group. Georg Thomas, who is a Certified Ethical Hacker, will provide a unique perspective around how a hacker thinks, works, their approach and the different types of cyber-attacks which can occur and how. And Philip Catania who is Corrs' information technology law leader and has practiced in this area for over 25 years. Phil represents a number of Australia’s leading organisations in their IT and data privacy work and also represents some of the world’s leading social media companies in relation to data privacy and cyber security.
