This month we are privileged to have KWM Partner Scott Farrell in town to present a seminar to the VSCL on the Australian Government's landmark review into open banking, which he led through to completion in the latter half of 2017. The Australian Government accepted the recommendations made by Scott and his review team on the design and implementation of an open banking system for Australia earlier this year with phased implementation of the proposed system for open banking and consumer data rights expected to commence from July 2019.

There is inspiration to be found in Scott's path from lawyer through to thought leader on legal innovation and open data regulatory frameworks and so this seminar will kick-off with a mini investigation into what makes Scott continue to strive towards finding ways to tweak and improve the financial, technology and data systems under which Australia operates.

Join us for this seminar in which Scott will explore the potential of such an open banking system to deliver to consumers and to Australia the benefits which come from regulatory systems which support the new data sharing economy.

Location: King & Wood Mallesons, Level 50, 600 Bourke Street Melbourne

Date: Tuesday 14 August from 1:00pm to 2:00pm (lunch provided)
