The Practice Note on the Effective Use of Technology in Criminal Matters will come into effect soon. The Supreme Court, in association with the Victorian Society of Computers and the Law, is offering series of educational seminars for the Bar and the profession on how to use the new criminal technology Practice Note.
“The Court hopes parties will adopt these procedures because in many cases there will be substantial benefits to accused persons, defence lawyers, and the Crown such as savings in time and cost, cases being more thoroughly prepared, more compelling cases being presented to the Court, and the Court dealing with cases more expeditiously and fairly.”
