VSCL: Webinar Invitation | Rules as Code

  • 14 Oct 2020
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • Zoom meeting (details provided in confirmation email after registration)

The Victorian Society for Computers and the Law (VSCL) invites you to a webinar presented by Tim de Sousa (Executive Manager - Privacy at Westpac) and TJ Harrop (Project Manager - NSW Design System at NSW Department of Customer Service).

'Rules as Code' is an emerging approach to making prescriptive rules in legislation, regulation and policy machine-consumable. More than just 'coding the laws', the goal is to transform the drafting process itself to make better rules, enable machines to automate the application of rules more efficiently, and support better, more robust and more transparent digital services. RaC can also help automate routine work, enabling humans to focus on more difficult and complex issues requiring discretion.

In this session, Tim de Sousa and TJ Harrop will explain the foundational concepts of Rules as Code, talk through real world case studies, and answer questions.
